So i started a bit of digging the web and to my surprise, the prices have indeed gone up by 20-30%. The reason why this has gone up???? It was hard to find out...So a bit more enquiry in the nearby annachi shops left me staring at the state government...yup, all the guy told me was "ரேஷன் கடைல கம்மிய கொடுகராங்கள அதான்" ("since the items are give at a very low price in ration hence the cost")
I was just confused. How come that could affect the price??? If at all government gonna give out such thins at the lowest possible price, they themselves would have bought it at a very low cost :):):)...I just discussed the same with my colleague who has a good knowledge on current affairs, i found out he too had similar experience.
Though I didn't get the relation, i did get some info from him. These low cost grains and cereals are imported from Burma. yup!! Burma. And recently not only INDIA but CHINA too has started importing in large scale from BURMA and hence BURMA has increased its price:):):)
So with all this data i came to the conclusion, coz of china, the prices of grams, cereals and grains
have gone up!!!!!!!!! இது ஒரு அந்நிய நாட்டு சதி!!!!!!!!! :):):)
update:
the cost of the grams were just 70/kg a couple of monhts back and now it is 100/kg....does that mean, only the earning member can buy it? And only if the person has a handsome earning, can he afford to have grams in his diet????? I thin going forward, we will end up with 100/litre for water....and our children will be left to live only with water as diet!!!!!!!!NO I AM NOT KIDDING!!!!

Your blog is fun to read. I am sure I will be back, especially your account of the day you landed the job.
