Over the weekend i was in my native....Getting back to where u belong always gives u a sense of pride, happiness, unfathomable memories. Its been six years since i had spent a good time roaming around the city..... every time, i had some work that always kept me busy from noticing the place...
The roads on which i had walked up and down, on which i had fell often riding a bicycle or a two wheeler, where we had played street cricket....It has all changed...rather things have transformed from the worse to a better state or vice - versa :):)...It was not a sudden change, it has changed and kept changing...
During this visit, i could not help but notice how much it has changed...the roads of thillai nagar are now a six lane road, the trichy railway station is more dynamic and electric with a hell lot of advertisement boards.....My favorite ice cream shop Michale's, is now spread across city...WOW a chain of Michales's.....
The roads that bored thin traffic is always jammed now...few automatic signals have come up in the mainguard gate area...A lot of places to shop, more electronic gizmo, garment shops...wow now trichy has few places to go on a shopping spree...A top class show room from SONY...factory outlet from ADIDAS and NIKE, a bigger music world, a bigger odyssey...what else....the malls are still coming up!!!!!
unlike the traditional trichy that i had known, i could see guys and girls roaming with the minimal clothing, that they can afford too :):):)...more of young couples roaming around the city....a lot of places for these people to hang out...and YA trichy is definitely loosing its charm....
Best known for famous temples around the city, everything is now commercialized....no more sacred temples....u need to see Regananthan in sri rangam? he will not give u an appointment that easily!!!!!!u need to be a big shot with a lump amount in your pocket, hands, mouths, ass wherever possible :):)
yup, it hurts when u realise this is not the way u visualised your native to be...alas fate has its way even for a place!!!! In the name of modernization, in the name of better life, in the name of better economy......the city is dying....just like any other city, humans no longer have a peaceful life unlike the old days....they run all day, to enjoy the life that they have for once...literally forgetting, they are missing the life that they wanted to enjoy.....
Is this the way our future is heading???!!!!!!
