With Unnai pol oruvan, shruthi haasan debuts as a music director. With much expectation, the audio was released at satyam cinemas. I just bought an audio cd and though why not give it a try. There are a total of 5tracks. Over all, the album looks technically good. In that sense, the mixing and choice of various instruments is really good. Let see each track. Of the five songs, three have been penned by Dr Kamal himself.
The first track, unnai pol oruvan, has a lot of people lending their voices including Shruthi and Akshara Hasaan. This one is fast paced and starts with a sanskrit verse. The song is good to hear. Nice blend of voices gives a good feel to the song.
Bombay Jayashree and Dr Kamal has rendered the song Nilai Varuma. The lyrics are good. One need not ask how jayashree sings, added to it, Kamal has brought in more beauty to the song. the tune starts off as a melody, goes on to a jazz ambiance adding a melancholic tune on its way, sure to leave a punch on the listeners heart.
"Easier said than done". That's what u keep hearing till the song ends. The third track starts with a rap from blaze. He is then joined by shruthi hasaan. The way she handles the touch of Indian ragas as well as the rock is really great. She makes it looks easier. Except for few jarring beats in the background, the song is good.
Indeed a remarkable voice for Kamal, when he starts the song Allah Jaane. Penned by Manyusha Puthran, Kamal has lent different moods to the listener as one hears the song. Set mostly on the melancholic side, the use of mughal styled tunes has come out well.
The remix for the song Allah Jaane by Shruthi looks great, though there is something missing.
Overall a nice work. Lets give a warm welcome to Shruthi Hasaan. Nice album.
Rated:3.5/5.
